Tucker Solarized 2aAfter one year of  renovating the 20,000 square foot former factory, Isles’ 33 Tucker Street location has received its final touches
- solar panels!

Tucker Street is home to Isles’ YouthBuild Institute and Center for Energy and Environmental Training. The location’s renovations included all new, high efficiency heating, cooling, ventilating, electrical and plumbing systems; new windows for day lighting every classroom; and a new sprinkler system.

Isles’ link of the solar panel installation and the training center’s first solar class was a collaborative effort with SunPower Corporation, an international leader in solar technology, and contractors Jersey Solar and Sun Electric. All three companies partnered with Isles to help develop and deliver its solar training as part of the installation process. SunPower’s support and commitment to Tucker Street’s solarization began with a solar power training session for YouthBuild students and graduates over a year ago.

Additional support came from South Jersey Industries, which provided $10,000 to help offset material costs for the solar array installation.
