The Center for Energy and Environmental Training (CEET) offers “green job” training to qualified individuals who have an interest in pursuing a career that will help improve the environment. CEET requires participants to be drug free throughout the entire training and placement period.
CEET’s current training opportunities include:
- Energy Efficiency Assistant: Preparation to assist in residential auditing, air sealing, and insulation.
- Building Analyst: Preparation to be a Building Analyst/Energy Auditor. (Construction or related experience necessary.)
- Environmental Cleanup: Preparation for lead remediation, asbestos removal, and mold and mildew control.
- Solar Panel Installation: Preparation for solar panel installation.

Participant Eligibility Requirements:
• Be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Possess a valid NJ drivers license and have reliable transportation to get to and from work sites.
• Score a minimum of 7th grade level on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).
Most training courses will be between 4 and 12 days. In addition to green job training in the classroom and field, courses will include some or all of the following:
• Life Skills
• Job Readiness Skills
• Introduction to Environmental Sustainability
• Lead Safe Renovation Practices
• OSHA Training

CEET also provides the Energy Efficiency Assistant course through a partnership with the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development and three community-based organizations. Through the Green Job Training Partnership Program (GJTPP), CEET provides the green job training in three other urban areas, as part of the host community-based organization’s 240 hour training program, which also includes basic skills and workforce readiness.
